FUNDING BIAS:

Bias in interpreting an association between an exposure and outcome due to the absence or withdrawal of financial support or other resources1. Not to be confused with Bias Due to Conflicts of Interest; which is a bias due to vested interests (e.g. financial or professional rewards etc.).

Although, the term funding bias is often used informally to refer to Bias Due to Conflicts of Interest2; these biases are different in that Funding Bias refers to the inability to draw accurate conclusions due to  removal of support, whereas Bias Due to Conflicts of Interest refers to the presence of funding affecting study results. Also see: Bias Due to Conflicts of Interest, Arbitrary Exclusion Bias, and Publication Bias.
