POTENTIAL BREAKTHROUGH BIAS:
A bias that occurs when one over-emphasizes the importance of a study, or assumes the results are valid, because they are overly optimistic about their impact or importance1.
Potential Breakthrough Bias is a type of Interpretive Bias, and the opposite of Empiricism-Narcissism Bias. Also see: Interpretive Bias, Do Something Bias, Change Bias, and Empiricism-Narcissism Bias.
